Introducing . . . Cafe Hibiscus

Different, yet, the same.

What is different? A fresher name, Cafe Hibiscus AND a new operator, Chef Colin Smith

What is the same? BRUNCH is back!

Raised in New Orleans, Colin comes to Hibiscus with a wealth of culinary experience.   While getting a Bachelors degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management at the University of New Orleans, Chef Colin worked for the notable Brennan restaurant family.  He then earned his Culinary Degree from the prestigious Johnson and Wales Culinary University in Vail, CO, where he worked at Sweet Basil restaurant.

Colin has spent the last twenty years honing his culinary skills and love of the Culinary arts at renowned restaurants in San Francisco, Napa, Boston, even Montana and New Orleans. Colin has worked under the tutelage of acclaimed Chefs Wolfgang Puck, Emeril Lagasse, Thomas Keller and Todd English. He has also expanded on his experience by working all aspects of the front of the house in several restaurants.  Locally, you may have seen Him at Stinky’s Fish Camp, Smiling Fish Cafe and Christianos Italian Restaurant.

Colin will continue to serve the SAME Hibiscus favorites, while also offering DIFFERENT and exciting dishes, to include a few items for the carnivorous at heart.  No worries though, the menu will continue to focus on light and health fare and always embrace the vegetarian and vegan clientele that has supported Hibiscus all these years. As always EVERYTHING will be served and prepared with LOVE!

Hibiscus traditional Sunday Brunch returns this Sunday, March 4th, featuring the music of Ashli Rose. Habitat for Humanity will be pouring Mimosas for donations.

ALSO be on the lookout for the Cafe to start serving lunch, this spring.   As always, our “BackyardOfLove” will be available for catered events, where Colin will also be utilizing his experience to produce memorable events.

Please stop by the Cafe this weekend, and say hello to Colin. If you buy a cup of coffee, you will receive a complimentary Hibiscus souvenir mug! WE are all excited about the changes here at Hibiscus:: the SAME but a little DIFFERENT.

(We hope you all continue to come and experience the Love we have to offer)

30A Studio Changes

As you all know, we have been home to the amazing 30A Studio, here at Hibiscus. This little cottage

in the middle of the property has housed several photographers, as well as our 2012 Artist of the

Year, Allison Craft!

We want to congratulate Allison, as she moves out and on to bigger and better things!

Her new shop is now located at The Shops of Grayton  26 Logan Lane suite A. We will miss her

but we are so excited for her and hope you will all stop by her new shop, and purchase some of her

one of a kind jewelry.

Shelly, Jackie and Sheila have all also moved onto bigger and better places for their amazing

art and photography, and we are hopeful they do well also.
