A little Sunday morning humor …

Little John the Baptist

Matt..18:4-5
“Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
And who ever welcomes a little child like this in my name welcomes me.

“Johnny’s Mother looked out the window and noticed him “playing church” with their cat.

He had the cat sitting quietly and he was preaching to it. She smiled and went about her work. A while later she heard loud meowing and hissing and ran back To the open window to see Johnny baptizing the cat in a tub of water.

She called out, “Johnny, stop that! The cat is afraid of water!”

Johnny looked up at her and said, “He should have thought about that before he joined my church.”

Kicking off the weekend…..

Last night Bob & I loaded up our lawn chairs, a nice bottle of wine and headed up to Gulf Place Amphitheatre to hear the Forrest Williams Band. It was a perfect evening to hang with friends, listen to some awesome music and create wonderful memories … I love that!

Catch some Forrest Williams Band over the weekend … Saturday noon: Red Bar, Saturday Night: Stinky’s Fish Camp, Sunday Night: Shoo Mamas …. BE RELAXED!

Memorial Day Weekend

This is the weekend that has always marked the beginning of summer. I can remember growing up and when this weekend came, I knew there would be no more school and I would have three months to play. We would load the car in the mornings with everything we needed for the beach … towels, blankets, beach toys, baby oil with iodine and lots of snacks. We would head to Pensacola Beach, get our spot next to the pier and there we would be for the day.

We would spend those days creating memories that I am now reflecting on… what an awesome gift God has given us. So, come on down to the beach and create some memories of your own … we look forward to seeing you!

Just off 30A in the mellow beach burb of Grayton lies an intriguing hot spot.

To loyal fans, the Hibiscus Coffee and Guest House is a place to gather, share a meal or be entertained. In 1994, owners Kurt and Barbara Tape opened the original vegetarian café with four guest rooms upstairs. Innkeeper and part owner Cheri Peebles, the established face in the community, came on board three years later.

Set behind the business corner of Defuniak Street and 30A are three main buildings that house the café and 12 distinct guest rooms designed in eclectic Old Florida style. Discreetly hidden are the artists’ cottage, flower gardens and recently opened courtyard for musical and special events. [Read More...]
