Vegan food from raw & juicy in Santa Rosa Beach, at their Grayton Beach location.

Vegan Food in Santa Rosa Beach

Apart from our on-site vegetarian and vegan cafe, Raw & Juicy, I was unfamiliar with many of the vegan food options on 30A, so I decided to research and put together a collection of some of my favorites for our guests. Most restaurants in this area are not exclusively vegan, but believe me, there is no shortage of healthy and delicious vegan food in our town.

Hibiscus Coffee & Guesthouse offers a free vegan breakfast for our guests every morning. If you’re interested in booking a room with us, you can find more information about our rooms here. You can also book a room with the link in the header.

Raw & Juicy, Grayton Beach

Raw & Juicy is Hibiscus Coffee & Guesthouse’s on-site vegan cafe, and they serve Hibiscus’s guests for free every morning. They are also open to the public. They’ve been around since 2008 and are highly respected in the community. They offer a variety of vegan and vegetarian dishes, such as an egg and cheese breakfast sandwich with the egg substituted for a chickpea scramble, and a Costa Rican breakfast bowl filled with rice, beans, salsa, and chickpea scramble. I highly recommend Raw & juicy to anyone looking for a vegan cafe.

Prema Organic Cafe

This cafe boasts a menu that is 100% organic, gluten-free, soy-free, and canola oil-free. They have hearty vegan salads as well as savory avocado toast and sweet almond butter toast, and one of my favorite breakfast items, the granola bowl. This is a great place to eat breakfast or lunch.

Nanbu Noodle Bar

Add something special to your vegan experience with this Japanese noodle bar. For lunch their “Soba Stir-Fry” is a great choice. For dinner try some of their “Bites” like their shishito peppers. And a delicious entree of Veggie Rice Bowl, with enoki mushroom as the protein. They also have a really good Assari Veggie Ramen. And along with their vegan food I have to mention their delicious Sake. This is a good choice for lunch or dinner, and it’s within walking distance of our guesthouse.

30A Thai Cuisine

30A Thai Cuisine is if you’re looking for more of a high end vegan restaurant. They have fresh spring rolls, a papaya salad, and house salad as good vegan starters. Follow that up with stir-fried vegetables with fried tofu, and a whole host of vegan noodle dishes. They also have many dishes that can be made vegan, a the staff is very well versed and knowledgeable about the menu and vegan diets. Finally for dessert they have a coconut glazed sticky rice with mango that’s definitely worth trying.

Surfing Deer

This is where my grandpa had his birthday party last year and we all loved it! It is a popular fine dining restaurant that’ll make you feel like a true socialite. Surfing Deer currently offers three vegan dishes, a crispy coconut and cauliflower curry, a creamy sweet corn fusilli pasta and for dessert a mixed berries cobbler. While their options for vegan food are limited, they’re incredibly tasty. Surfing Deer also has an extensive list of interesting beers, wines, and whiskeys. This one is well worth a try, just make sure to have a reservation as they are usually very busy.

Blue Mountain Beach Creamery

Blue Mountain Beach Creamery has the best ice-cream in town, and vegan ice-cream is no exception. Their vegan ice-creams are made with oat milk and their vegan flavors change regularly. At this time of writing this their vegan options were: Cookies & Cream, Cookie Dough, and Chocolate. They also offer a variety of sorbets. If you like ice-cream or sorbet, you’ll like the Blue Mountain Beach Creamery.

For the Health Of It

For the Health Of It is an organic grocer that’s been in Blue Mountain Beach for over 25 years. Right next to Blue Mountain Beach Creamery! Both of which have great vegan treats. Although it isn’t a restaurant, they do have vegan smoothies and a wonderful selection of vegan groceries. This is a great place to grab some vegan snacks for a picnic or try some new vegan products. I highly recommend it even if you’re not vegan.

Real and Raw 30A Organic Eatery

Real and Raw 30A Organic Eatery is an organic eatery with vegan and vegetarian options. I tried their La Joya Avocado Toast and it was to die for, very filling and very healthy. Since they are an organic eatery, they’re knowledgeable about their foods as well as vegan and vegetarian diets. When you order just tell them that you’re vegan and they’ll happily make accommodations for most menu items. They also have amazing coffees and smoothies that’re worth going for all on their own.

Pizza by the Sea

Pizza by the Sea has some of the best pizza in town. They have options for Violife cheese and vegan crust, both of which are an upcharge. Making a vegan 10″ pizza start at around $22, plus another $1.50 per topping. But this is a good option if you’re looking to eat pizza while you’re out and about or don’t have an oven where you’re staying.

  • Hibiscus room was a large and comfortable room. I think an upgrade on the sheets would be good. Breakfast fantastic. Wonderful setting for a walk. Beach gorgeous. Everyone needs to eat at The Red Barn. Portions are huge. We split one. It can get very busy.
Loved our little get away and would return.

Since 2011, Hibiscus Guest House has been our cherished haven every time we venture to the enchanting 30A area. The hotel staff, with their unwavering warmth, friendliness, and eagerness to cater to our needs, have made each stay a true delight. Hibiscus holds a special corner in our hearts, just as it does for countless others who have graced its welcoming embrace over the years.
Oh, the memories of waffle wonders, egg frittatas, and biscuits & gravy linger fondly in our minds. With the arrival of new management at the guest house cafe, offering most breakfast menu items inclusive for house guests (excluding specialty drinks), we eagerly anticipate new culinary adventures while cherishing the familiar flavors of the past.
While some of the guest rooms may benefit from a touch of upkeep to maintain their timeless charm, the overall allure of this beautiful and nostalgic place remains unwavering. Hibiscus Guest House continues to be our go-to sanctuary for vacation stays, a place where we can unwind and reconnect with the essence of tranquility.
As we eagerly await each return to this beloved retreat, we do so with hearts full of gratitude and anticipation, knowing that with each visit, Hibiscus Guest House has the potential to become even more extraordinary, weaving its magic into our cherished memories once again.

In a sea of cookie cutter, this could be anyplace, hotel options, this stood out as having a real sense of place (and an earlier time) and I enjoyed it very much. I stayed in Flat #3 which is actually a cozy 1BR Apartment. Sometimes older places feel a bit threadbare and worn but this one didn’t. I liked the rambling quality, the outdoor spaces (great to hang out in) and the way it is not overwhelmed by the almighty automobile. There is parking but in a subdued, rambling way. The location is wonderful in a small community that also retains its sense of place and with access to some nice places to eat. The cafe, although the included breakfast has a fairly limited menu and is not the typical choose whatever you want continental breakfast, served up one of the best breakfast sandwiches I’ve ever had: egg, cheese and spinach on excellent sourdough toast. My only complaint was that there is no decaf coffee. I would definitely go again if in the areas. Staff were warm and helpful. I appreciated that when they had a maintenance problem in my scheduled room, instead of surprising me on arrival, they called in advance and told me my options which were free upgrades.

  • We had a big room with a nice king bed and a huge bathroom with a claw foot club. All antiques furnish the room with painted wood floors. Like staying with your grandmother but more comfortable. I left my Kindle there and the staff couldn’t have been more generous about hunting for it and ultimately finding it with a promise to ship it to me the next day. If you are tired of being “just another guest” at a big hotel this place is for you. The vegan cafe is supposed to be great and I have no doubt that it is. It was crowded when we stopped by to grab a bite and unfortunately we couldn’t wait for the crowd to thin… we had to get on the road. Would definitely go back.

Amazing experience, perfect location! We spent one night staying at Hibiscus in the Old Florida Room. Check-in was easy, and our room was clean, cute, and comfortable! The grounds are peaceful and felt perfectly private while still being able to walk to everything in Grayton Beach!
We also enjoyed breakfast at the cafe! The waffle I ordered was incredible, and eating in the courtyard was serene.
We were able to walk to the beach (it’s winter so we weren’t hauling beach stuff) there’s public beach access within a 10 minute walk. There are also several restaurants, bars, and shops within a 10 minute walk.
We will be back again and again!

We loved the Turner Room; the space was adequate. The bedroom and bathroom were very clean and quaint. It was a great location for the price. We enjoyed the restaurant next door and the grocery store. We caught the free shuttle down to The Red Bar and back, which ran every 10 minutes. We rode our bikes down the road, where we enjoyed ice cream one day! The beach is very close and we enjoyed the breeze. Also, one day we drove down to Seaside; we loved shopping and eating pizza at Bud and Alley’s! We will definitely be back! We love 30A and Grayton Beach!!!!

We loved our second stay at the Hibiscus! This was our first time bringing children. The upstairs room in Bert’s Barn was a great fit for us. Breakfast was perfect each morning and you can’t beat the beauty and charm of the property. We’ll be back!

Community kitchen nicely functional. Lucky for me the neighbors were friendly. Shower was nice and forceful. I recommend this place for a beach experience.

I booked the Hibiscus for my wedding weekend in Grayton Beach. They were able to accommodate my guests traveling in from 6 different states. Warren and his team made my guests feel welcome and the breakfast is awesome! This is truly a hidden gem. If you’re just in town for the day or passing through, stop at the cafe for a bite to eat.

Loved our stay here. Comfortable & clean. Nice staff. Quirky & vintage style. We stayed in The Big Easy room & it was very quiet. Walking distance to beach but there’s a tram pick up & drop off right up the street that will take you to the beach area & Red Bar. Will definitely stay again when visiting the area.
